Benenden’s has over sixty volunteers, five managers, and nine committee members. These resources are supplemented by the generous support of others with specialist skills and knowledge, and funded by over 300 shareholders.
This workforce has combined to ensure that our community shop has got off to a great start in its first year, but we still need volunteers.
In the Shop
Our greatest immediate need is for volunteers to help run Benenden’s during the weekend. We want to make sure that people aren’t overburdened, so the more people who volunteer the better. Just a couple of hours will help a great deal. To find out more about what’s involved contact Paul Tolhurst.
Supporting the Business
You don’t have to work in the shop to support Benenden’s.
We are looking for people who would like to help with our communications. If you would like to help keep our website up to date, to get our newsletters out, produce posters and leaflets or write content, contact Paul Leek to find out more. You really don’t need previous experience, but it helps.
We need to make sure that our finances continue to be managed well, so we need volunteers with Accountancy and Book-keeping skills. We need to maintain our monthly and annual numbers, and to help the shop manager and the committee to control pay-bill, stock and other costs. Contact Martin Pexton to find out more.
